Situation
After some early stage stumbles, a major government contractor faced significant public and stakeholder opposition with expiry of its contract just over two years away.
Goal
To understand opposition to program management and to develop a strategy to improve the image of the contractor and program prior to contract renewal.
Activities
We developed, designed and implemented an extensive stakeholder opinion research program to identify the concerns of those who would be most influential in the contract renewal decision-making process. We used that information to develop a communications strategy to enhance the image of the contractor and to address stakeholder concerns.
Results
After implementation of the program, the contactor won contract renewal with a minimum of competition or opposition.
